David Swanson is an American photographer, musician, artist and director. Swanson has photographed album covers, portraits, reportage, documenting the making of albums, his travels, press packaging for musicians, concerts, sports, still life’s, products, etc. He has filmed the making of albums, shorts, live concerts and music videos. Subjects include… Jack White, Lady Gaga, Alison Mosshart, Matthew Gray Gubler, Dwyane Wade, The White Stripes, The Dead Weather, Dev Hynes, Freja Beha, Folded Light, His Uncle Jerry, Hell Beach, The Black Belles, Abbey Lee Kershaw, The Rolling Stones, his wife and daughter, Iggy Pop, Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Yankees, The Raconteurs, Our Mountain, Lightspeed Champion, family and friends, among others. Swanson’s band called Whirlwind Heat has toured the globe, released three LP’s and numerous 7” singles.
David studied Black and White Photography in Grand Rapids, Michigan and has been Terry Richardson’s apprentice for the last 9 years.
